I woke up (rather late) this morning full of the potential of DIY!!! This was not due to any particularly tempting offer from the renowned temptress 'Homebase' (how many Sundays do we, as a nation, lose to her?), or anything involving, erm.... 'releasing tension', but because I had had a 'thunder' experience! Simon and I drove down last night to Exeter Uni to see veteran rockers 'Thunder' kick off their live tour. Now, i can't claim to be a fan of the band, or genre really, (although they played very well and were very amusing), but they do the whole thing themselves. Without record label support etc etc. Now, we in remus will be releasing our new album 'The Complete Piece Missing' on our little 'romola' imprint. And there will be a cd to buy (striking photo again, my life not actually in danger this time), and you will be able to download it from itunes etc, but I'm now thinking "How far can we push this?". We keep developing at a pace, and the new album will be a real good 'un, so in the future, what next? A national tour? Playing abroad? (Germany?). Certainly proper press packs, and sending out loads of promo 'TCPM' cds to really get the ball rolling. Okay, so it's recorded in an extension to someones house in Weymouth, but good songs are good songs, recorded in Weymouth or at Abbey Road. It may turn out that Thunder connected a car battery to Romola and burst it into life. Such is the power of 'DIYSoft Rock'! Adios, James |

As a live outfit we have kind of fallen off the map a little recently - but all that is about to change!! In support of our new album, 2009 looks like it's gonna be our busiest year yet - with the launch of 'The complete piece missing 2009 tour'. We are still finalising dates & venues, but we are all really excited with the album and looking forward to playing the songs live. In the meantime we have a warm up gig at the Lazy Lizard in Weymouth on Friday 5th December. We are on late at 12:30am - but what the hell, it's Christmas!!! Don't forget, our debut album 'Fighting against the tide' is still available for download through itunes & amazonmp3. Hope to see you out and about on the live circuit. All the best - Remus |

We are just putting the finishing touches to our second album proper 'The Complete Piece Missing'. Here is one of the key tracks from the album a song called 'Parachute'. Since the summer this song (with an extended keyboard intro) has opened all our gigs and was described by our studio engineer as 'Epic'. This was the first song we worked on when Nick joined the band back in August '07, and has remained a definite high point in our set ever since!! As I say, the album is slowly coming together & we hope to have it done by Christmas, but perfectionists as we are we will only put it out when we are completely happy. We have some warm up gigs coming up in December - dates to be arranged. Anyway, let us know what you think of the new track and we'll see ya soon All the best Remus |
